You do NOT need this adapter with any 2010 or later model amps, or with the 2009 ONE/TWO models with power supplies sold by us including the 30v/130w. It is designed to protect the power switch when high-current supplies are used on older (2009) amplifiers.

This unit is useless (it will provide no protection at all) unless it is used in the following manner:

  • Plug soft-start into back of amp
  • Turn on amp
  • Plug power supply into back of soft-start

    To unplug, do the following:

  • Leave amp on
  • Leave soft-start plugged into back of amp
  • Unplug power supply from back of soft-start

    We are discussing production of a new design which allows full use of the on/off button on the amplifier while the soft-start is in-line with power and the amp. Unfortunately, this design did not work as expected - and we don't know for sure if the newer design will ever be made! Also, if you received your unit before April 2010, please apply the 470uF/35v capacitor fix as described in the forums. You're on your own to do this!

    This soft-start circuit, when placed between the power supply and the amplifier, protects the power switch from high current turn-on rush as well as extending the life of the amplifier overall. It is rated up to 15A @ 30V, proportionally less current at higher voltages up to 70V.
